A View From The Bridge

Romano reveals Chelsea have made a decision on the future of out-of-favour forward who is out on loan currently

Fabrizio Romano reveals Chelsea set to part ways with Armando Broja next season

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have decided on Armando Broja’s future for the upcoming campaign and will sell the striker next season once he returns from his loan spell at Fulham. The centre-forward has endured another poor campaign and was later loaned to Fulham.

The academy player was loaned to Fulham in January in the hope of more game time, but that hasn’t been the case as Broja has only appeared in seven games, and now his future at Chelsea remains up in the air.

The Blues’ financial situation has forced the club to look certain amount of players and Broja is among them who could be offloaded in the summer, and many European and Premier League clubs are keen on signing the Albanian striker. Now it remains to be seen what Broja will decide about his future.

Coming to the Blues will further put the striker down the pecking order if they bring in a striker in the summer, as Nicolas Jackson will be the second-choice No. 9. So it will be wise for him to test his mettle at some other club, as the Blues don’t seem to be convinced by him.

It’s a pity that he couldn’t make an impact there after suffering a season-ending injury last campaign, while this season he barely played in the first half of the season due to injury problems. If he joins some other club in the summer, hopefully, he will be trusted by them and will be backed to thrive there because he boasts plenty of qualities to become a world-class striker.

At barely 22 years old, Broja has a bright future ahead of him. If he can avoid injuries, he has the potential to be a top striker. Sometimes you have to leave your boyhood team in order to pursue your career elsewhere. If he develops into a top centre-forward in the future, the Blues may attempt to bring him back.

The club is riding on the edge of Premier League FFP and will profit even more from his departure because they prefer selling players before purchases during the summer transfer window.
