Chelsea representative meet in-demand La Liga sensation’s agents

Chelsea emissaries hold talks with emissaries of Barcelona star Gavi

Chelsea personnel met with agents representing Barcelona star Gavi as they try to secure his signature in the 2023 summer transfer window

If Barcelona doesn’t sign the 18-year-old before the transfer window opens, his future at the Nou Camp is in question. One of the best young players in world football, there will be no shortage of suitors.

The Spanish team was unable to register Gavi because of their financial difficulties. And according to Diario AS, (h/t Daily Mail), Chelsea wants to seize this opportunity to entice the youngster to join the Blues.

And it’s believed that Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell and Valencia midfielder Ivan de la Pena apparently met three weeks ago in Madrid.

It is understood that Chelsea representatives’ discussions with Gavi agents went well, and a second meeting to discuss the next measures is soon to be scheduled. Gavi, who was stripped of his original number six and given the number 30 back, is not pleased with how Barcelona handled his contract issue.

Barcelona are trying to come up with a way to register the midfielder. He had previously been registered by the club after La Liga rejected his application, but that decision was reversed by a court on March 25, and he was forced to sign a contract with the youth academy, diminishing his worth on the transfer market.

Given how the young player has established himself in Europe, if we are able to secure Gavi, it would be a fantastic signing. Gavi is undoubtedly one of the top young prospects to come out of Barcelona’s famed youth academy, which has consistently generated the finest new talent.

He is an aggressive midfielder who plays with a lot of intensity. The 18-year-old combines Xavi’s quality but is more combative on the field; he presses until he gets the ball back, leading some to label him a bully.

More Chelsea News:

If Luis Enrique is appointed as our permanent manager for the upcoming campaign—and considering that Gavi played for him at the national level—Gavi will without a doubt thrive under him.
