“I don’t see him playing”- Bacary Sagna warns Chelsea star not to join Arsenal

Bacary Sagna feels if Mason Mount joins Arsenal he will not play ahead of any player

Bacary Sagna believes that if Mason Mount joins Arsenal, then the Chelsea star won’t get playing time there due to the current quality the north London club possess.

Mount’s contract situation at Chelsea is slowly turning into a saga as the midfielder and owner have not yet come to a satisfactory resolution. Todd Boehly’s intention was to sign the 24-year-old to a new, long-term contract, but it has so far been challenging given his desire for increased pay.

The 24-year-old has been wanting a pay hike, but the American businessman has so far been unwilling to do so. And since his contract with the Blues expires in 2024 (Transfermarkt), Mount may leave the team for free if this continues.

And Premier League teams are already monitoring his contract situation, with Manchester City and Manchester United reportedly keeping track of his moves, while Liverpool are also thought to be an admirer of his.

Sagna, a former Arsenal player, says to The Games Cabin, (h/t Football.London), that the England international may struggle to crack the starting lineup if he signs with the North Londoners;

“I don’t see him playing ahead of any of the players in Arsenal’s starting XI. I think he would purely be an addition, and I don’t see him getting ahead of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, or Gabriel Martinelli. I believe that Martinelli has more speed and more creativity, and I don’t believe buying a player like Mason and putting him on the bench would be a good decision for the club.”

Sagan Feels Mason Mount will not fit in at Arsenal.

Sagna has a right to his own view, but this will not be his decision to make as Arsenal have Mikel Arteta who can make the choices and he wouldn’t like to waste the talent of the 24-year-old if they were able to sign him. Mount is young and has a tonne of potential.

We can also see how Arteta has used Jorginho, who has played for Arsenal in six games in all competitions because he knows where the Italian can be helpful.

More Chelsea News:

If Mount joins Arsenal, Arteta, who is an ingenious manager will have a place for him there. Coaches always know the value of their players and how to employ them in systems where they can flourish. However, the Gunners have not expressed any solid interest in buying the midfielder.

Moreover, the rivalries between the two teams will be a factor, especially considering Arsenal are doing better than us in the Premier League right now. Although, that hasn’t stopped the likes of Jorginho and David Luiz from playing for both teams.
