USMNT boss assures Chelsea Christian Pulisic won’t be risked during March break

Anthony Hudson of USMNT has called up Chelsea star Christian Pulisic for upcoming Nations League matches

Christain Pulisic has been selected to play for the USMNT in CONCACAF Nations League matches against Grenada and El Salvador.

After helping the USA advance to the round of 16 at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the 24-year-old will once again be in the action for the national team.

The forward has laboured with his fitness ever since returning to club football after a knee injury kept him out of action since January.

But the former Borussia Dortmund player is now slowly finding his form and has performed admirably in Chelsea’s most recent games.

He made his return in the Champions League round of 16 match against his old team Dortmund and has since played 24 minutes. He might feature in Chelsea’s final game before the international break against Everton on Saturday.

Hudson also stated that he will exercise caution with Pulisic and avoid placing a substantial strain on him (h/t Football.london), saying:

“We’re currently in communication with clubs. We want to make sure that the players that have returned from injury and have had limited minutes coming in, we just want to make sure, in partnership with clubs, that we do the right thing for the player. We’ll get all that information before we get to camp.”

With reduced playing time at Chelsea, Pulisic will need these games to restore the momentum he lost after recuperating from his injury. We also anticipate he rediscovers his form.

However, International breaks are risky, and many players can get serious injuries that keep them out for months. We hope Pulisic doesn’t sustain another injury again.

More Chelsea News:

He will benefit greatly from those games since they will give him more assurance and enable him to be a complete fit for Chelsea’s next games. And Graham Potter may use him as a substitute or he could find a place in starting eleven if he impresses in the international break.
