According to transfer news from Daily Mail (h/t The Sun), Chelsea are keeping tabs on Kingsley Coman. Questions have been asked about Christian Pulisic’s future and the Blues see Coman as a direct replacement for the American. Manchester United are also said to be after Coman.
Chelsea’s interest in the 24-year-old is not new. They wanted him in 2019 when Bayern were after Callum Hudson-Odoi. Nonetheless, no transfer materialised during that time. Even after that, Chelsea kept tabs on the Frenchman and they still do now.
Coming to the Pulisic situation, Thomas Tuchel has puzzlingly omitted the American from quite a few matchdays and given him lesser game time than he would have liked. That has led to Pulisic seeking more assurances over playing time.
Coman, however, is perhaps the best candidate to replace Pulisic. He has expressed a desire to play in England also. Another reason for going after Coman is the sheer amount of experience and winning mentality that he brings with him, having won a host of trophies at Bayern, including the Champions League last season.
“For me it is the most interesting league in the world. But I am thinking of the next three years and I can only see myself at Bayern. My career is just starting so you never know. But England has a league where every player would like to play.”
Chelsea may have a decent crop of attackers at their disposal. However, the addition of a world-class winger like Coman would be huge. Not only would he bolster the attack, but he also comes with a winning mentality that can benefit the club all ends if someone like Christian Pulisic were to depart.
Chelsea and Arsenal are snubbing an English left winger who is currently playing for Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
It has been reported that Chelsea have dispatched their scout in pursuit of the German attacker Francis Onyeka.
