According to Daily Mail, Thomas Tuchel believes the momentum Chelsea have gathered can propel them to a top-four finish. The win over Everton was an important one given the implications of the race for the top four.
A goal on either side of half-time was enough for the Blues to take all three points and keep up with the other sides chasing the coveted Champions League spots. West Ham also won later in the night, meaning that they still have a game in hand and could climb above Chelsea.
With that win, Chelsea have now won 6 of their 9 Premier League games under Thomas Tuchel, pushing them from ninth place to fourth place. Tuchel believes that this run and momentum would be enough for a top-four finish.
‘If you share in special moments, good results, hard fights, this is in the end the glue that lifts you up to special performances.
It can give you certain energy which is also needed. I truly believe this is a sport about team effort… I can feel a strong bond between the players in the dressing room. Everybody is doing everything in very positive atmosphere and we need this to have a run. To have results like this without this not possible.’
Chelsea cannot afford to slip up in the last 10 games as the likes of West Ham, Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham are still close enough to snatch away the fourth spot. Tuchel does have a point about building up momentum because we look rather unbeatable in this form.
