Maurizio Sarri left frustrated with final 30 minutes in Chelsea-Man United draw

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri was unhappy with the final 30 minutes of the 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

The Blues looked comfortable for most of the game, but a brace from Anthony Martial put us under a lot of pressure.

Ross Barkley came up with the equaliser deep into injury time but Sarri was unhappy with our style during the game.

The Italian was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying:

“In the end I am really disappointed in the last 30 minutes.

“The equaliser in the last minute is OK, is OK for the confidence of the players. But I have to look at something else.”

The manager added he was happy for 50 minutes since Chelsea played their football. Sarri highlighted that we started playing long-balls after United had equalised and the opposition were better in dealing with this.

“After the 1-1 we stopped with our football and we have played another football with the long ball. I don’t want to go to second ball. I want to play with short passes. I don’t know why it happened. If I did I would have immediately changed the situation!”

The former Napoli man conceded that the Blues did play against a quality side and our mistakes were highlighted by the opposition on Saturday.

Nevertheless, Chelsea remained unbeaten after the game and even if was a draw, that last minute goal will provide a huge boost to the rest of the team.

Our next Premier League game is against Burnley and this should be an easy three points for us, as long as we play Sarri-ball.
