Chelsea To Be Double Raided By European Heavyweights, Are They Ready For It?

As per the Sun (Cited by Daily Mirror), Real Madrid are preparing to raid Chelsea in the summer for Thibaut Courtois apart from Eden Hazard. Real Madrid has been trying to find a new no. 1 for the club from last few seasons. Their failed attempt to sign David De Gea is well known to every football fan and since the Spaniard has signed a new contract things have become difficult for the Los Blancos to negotiate with Manchester United.

This season Chelsea will not be in the top four and Real Madrid are hoping to sign Thibaut Courtois with the lure of Champions League football. The player himself has declared last week that he is uncertain about his future thus hinting that a move may be possible.

“Will I leave Chelsea this summer? I won’t say yes, but I won’t say no either.

“I don’t know. I still have three years left on my contract, and we will have to see what Chelsea want to do.

“We have games every three days over here, and no winter break. There are numerous cup competitions to play in, and we have to stay overnight in hotels before matches.

“The matches are played at a high tempo and there are some hefty collisions.

“Sometimes I watch my matches on TV that same evening, and get a shudder when I see myself rushing out into some situations.”

The 23-year-old hit out in a TV interview to be screened on Monday.

“The standard of training is higher when I am with the national side than at Chelsea,” he said. “Belgium’s squad is made up entirely of world-class players.

“But Chelsea’s squad includes some players who are a bit less highly-rated, and we also often train with the youngsters.

Courtois is probably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League alongside David De Gea and it is justified that Real Madrid are showing interest in him. Eden Hazard has been a long standing interest of Real Madrid and now Courtois can be added to that list.
