Sometimes, the scoreline doesn’t actually reflect what happened in the match and today was one of those for Chelsea, the Blues thoroughly dominated the game came and finished eventual winners in a 2-1 victory over Sunderland courtesy of two fantastic goals from John Terry and young Daniel Sturridge.

It was a game filled with emotions, relief and pleasure at scoring three goals Chelsea scored, but anger at Chelsea’s lacklustre performance overall (though the score line suggests something different).
The Blues managed to grab the three points in spite of a dreary first half performance, and as the saying goes, things can only get better for Chelsea as the season goes on.
Andre Villas-Boas showed shades of Mourinho as Chelsea and Stoke City played out a 0-0 draw at the Brittania Stadium in a game marred by two penalty appeals which should have been given in Chelsea’s favor.
This was literally a game of two halves, with Stoke the better of the two sides in the first 45. However, after the break it was a totally different story, with Chelsea always in command and looking the most likely to score. It was not to be, and on reflection I suspect that Tony Pullis will be the happier of the two managers.
Daniel Sturridge was amongst the goalscorers as Chelsea beat Kitchee in the semi-final of the Barclays Asia Trophy at the Hong Kong stadium.
