Atlético Madrid submit second and final bid for Conor Gallagher
According to Football London, Atlético Madrid have made a second offer for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, which is also set to be their last.
The Spanish side have made a bid in the region of £34 million for the England international, though it still remains away from the Blues’ £45m valuation of their academy graduate.
Atleti’s first bid for Gallagher was around £17 million.
The 24-year-old is not part of the Chelsea squad on tour of the US as part of their 2024/25 pre-season, though he is expected to join at a later date.
Valued by Transfermarkt at €50 million (around £42 million at the time of writing), Gallagher’s £50k-per-week contract is set to expire next June.
If they don’t receive a bid matching their valuation for the player, Chelsea are expected to offer Gallagher a new contract.
Expect Chelsea to stand firm
The pure profit Chelsea would stand to make from Gallagher’s sale, given he’s an academy graduate, helps us understand why they are happy to let him go despite not wanting to explicitly show him the exit door just yet, as was the case with Mason Mount last summer.
Chelsea may stand firm on their demand for other suitors, but given they are also interested in Atlético striker Samu Omorodion, there is a chance the two arrange to get what they want.

Expect Chelsea to play hard-ball but be adaptable enough to consider such an option if it is made available to them by Atleti, who would be open to such a move, especially as they near on-boarding Artem Dovbyk from Girona.
