Chelsea have joined London rivals Arsenal in the battle for Stuttgart forward
According to BILD from Germany, Chelsea are showing a serious interest in Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy and have joined London rivals Arsenal in the pursuit of the 28-year-old striker as both teams look for a new striker this summer.
The Blues want someone to compete with and complement Nicolas Jackson, while the Gunners want a first-choice forward to lead the line since Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are yet to show their ability to score on a consistent basis.
The 28-year-old was in world-class form for Stuttgart last season, scoring exactly 30 goals in 30 games, and it’s not surprising to see the Blues now showing serious interest along with other Premier League clubs.
He finished second to Harry Kane in the scoring charts last season, making him an appealing prospect for potential suitors.
Bild adds that Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are also interested in the Guinean attacker, who wants to know his future by the end of June.

The presence of Nicolas Jackson and his improved form towards the end of last season surely shows it’s worth sticking with him for a bit longer so he can continue his development, which a younger striker signing would likely complicate.
Guirassy, on the other hand, might step in and give a more experienced option to Jackson, allowing new manager Enzo Maresca to rotate between the two, while Jackson would undoubtedly benefit from practising alongside a seasoned player like Guirassy. Despite his and his family’s happiness at Stuttgart, the striker might be tempted by a move to London.
