Chelsea to move for £60m Premier League star regardless of who replaces Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea are plotting a summer move for Michael Olise

Chelsea have made Michael Olise one of their priority signings this summer and are set to move for him amid interest from Manchester United. Despite their hunt for a new manager, the Blues are also keeping an eye on the 21-year-old and don’t want to miss out on his acquisition.

According to Mirror, the Blues want to continue their aggressive, bold transfer policy of bringing in players, with the head coach focusing on preparing the team after missing out on his signing last summer. Olise has been rated £60m by Crystal Palace.

The Blues have long been keen on signing the player who has recorded one goal in just 14 league starts, assisting six times over the past season. Manchester United are also among the favourite candidates to sign the Frenchman.

Chelsea are currently busy locating an ideal coach to succeed Mauricio Pochettino and have continued their search for him. Following that, the Blues will have another busy summer window as they look to reinforce other areas.

Nonetheless, is signing Olise a wise decision?

Olise is one of the most underrated players, and he comes in the same bracket as Cole Palmer. However, injuries have derailed his ability to hit his full potential, but we still see how great he is and how much influence he can have in a game. Since Crystal Palace announced the appointment of Oliver Glasner, he has gotten the best of the 22-year-old.

But signing him really doesn’t make sense because, right now, we already have three left-footed players operating from the right wing. Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer, and now Estevao Willian will join the club next season, so where will Olise play?

More Chelsea news

We cannot just sign players aimlessly and then think about where they will play. This is very naive of us in the transfer window. Olise is a great player, and his hype is also reasonable, but we need to be very practical with our signings; otherwise, we will end up bloating our squad next campaign.
