Cobham calling? Chelsea close to signing South American wonderkid
Chelsea are determined to bring Palmeiras wonderkid Estevão Willian to Stamford Bridge as they make an enhanced offer for the Brazilian starlet.
The Blues are set to continue their pursuit of young players with high potential as they look to land one of the most exciting prospects in world football. Chelsea owner Todd Boehly recently termed the Blues spending an investment rather than an expense, and that could hold true when the club is lining up the player’s potential.
Chelsea up bid for Estevão Willian, “Here We Go” soon?
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to hand an update about the West Londoners pursuit of the Brazilian, stating that Todd Boehly & Co. have made a new offer for the right-winger. He insists that the new offer from Chelsea is more than Estevão Willian’s buyout clause of €55 million, although 40% of the payment terms will be in the add-ons. He states that the Blues offered a similar structure to bring Nikolas Jackson to the Bridge.
Fabrizio wrote in this tweet, “Chelsea’s new bid for Estevão will be in excess of the €55 million release clause. CFC will proceed like that to get better payment terms and more than 40% of the potential final fee in add-ons. Chelsea already did the same with Nico Jackson’s release clause last summer.”
With the intensity of recent Romano updates on the deal, it should be in its closing stages, and we should be expecting the infamous ‘here we go’ for Messinho soon. He is regarded as the next biggest thing in Brazilian football, which is why Chelsea fans are rubbing their palms on getting a player of his stature through the Cobham doors.
