Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher mocks former United player Gary Neville with ‘billionaire bottle jobs’ remark after crushing Manchester United loss against Chelsea

Jamie Carragher taunted Gary Neville by returning to his “billion-pound bottle jobs” remark after Manchester United suffered a crushing defeat against Chelsea late into stoppage time in their Premier League clash.

The Red Devils led until the 100th minute of the Premier League contest before Cole Palmer’s double in two minutes left Erik ten Hag’s side without a point. Cole Palmer performed remarkably in the match, scoring his first hat-trick and leading the Blues to the victory.

Reacting to the unexpected turn of events, Jamie Carragher took to Twitter immediately after the match’s final whistle to mock Manchester United and Gary Neville, referring to them as “the billion-pound bottle jobs.”

Gary Neville originally coined the term “billion pound bottle jobs” after the Blues slipped to an extra-time defeat in the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool, despite Jurgen Klopp fielding several teenagers at Wembley Stadium.

And Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, who never leaves an opportunity to take a swipe at Manchester United and Gary Neville, was quick to tweet: “The billion-pound bottle jobs.”

Chelsea and United clash was a real nail-biter

The match was a total roller-coaster ride for the team as well as the fans. The Blues started by leading 2-0, then the Red Devils made a comeback to make the scoreline 3-2 in their lead.

Then Diogo Dalot conceded a penalty in the 97th minute that allowed Palmer to equalize before sealing the victory with a deflected strike that found the back of the net just about 80 seconds later.

An important victory for the Blues
