Chelsea forward Mykhaylo Mudryk scored a 84th-minute goal and ensured Ukraine’s spot in the Euro 2024 in their 2-1 win over Iceland. Ukraine were sent into the play-off after failing to qualify for the Euro 2024 through the group spot.

The 23-year-old heaped praise from the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who posted the photo of Mudryk on his Instagram official page, and the former Shakhtar Donetsk forward shared it on his Instagram story.

Things are finally coming together for Mudryk, and now that he has started scoring goals, his confidence must be really high at the moment. The 23-year-old has been more threatening in central areas than on wings. He has found a new position where he can himself and make a big difference on the pitch.

He can make a big impact between the lines and from there he can give his utmost on the pitch. On the wings, sometimes he is too predictable and cannot use his every attribute, but his traits could be unlocked when he operates between the lines.

The goal will give Mudryk enormous confidence, given the struggles he has had at Chelsea. And the goal would have meant a lot to him, as he has led his nation to Euro 2024. Chelsea have a player with a high ceiling, but they will have to know how to unlock his attributes for him to become the best player at the club.

We didn’t pay a huge sum just to make him sit on the bench. Mauricio Pochettino will be very careful with his development because he is new to the league and will have to give the amount of time where he will have enough minutes to make a difference.

Mudryk has been different this season; he has already scored six goals in all competitions despite barely starting every game, which speaks volumes that once he settles in the league, scoring goals will become bread and butter for the player. It simply implies that if he gets into a groove, he won’t look back and will keep making an identity for himself, therefore we need to support him and have faith in him.
