Cole Palmer has suitors following impressive performances at Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer is gathering interest from the likes of Barcelona owing to his impressive performances at the Bridge following his move from Manchester City.

The 21-year-old accumulated 41 first-team appearances for Manchester City, but the truth is, he was always on the fringes. He made only two starts for Pep Guardiola’s side last season, with both coming after they sealed the Premier League title. Cole Palmer has uplifted his game since his move to Chelsea with 14 goals and 10 assists, making 34 appearances across all competitions this season, and there are multiple clubs showing interest in his services.

There were a lot of eyebrows raised when Chelsea paid £40 million to sign Cole Palmer from Manchester City on Transfer Deadline Day last summer; however, he has made an instant impact at the club.

According to a report by Fichajes, Barcelona want to change their transfer approach to sign highly-rated youth players and exploit the market. Vitor Roque arrived in Catalonia in the winter, and Barcelona are also looking to bring in Messinho as they want to continue discovering and developing top players. The report also relays Barcelona’s desire to sign Cole Palmer.

Alongside Barcelona, likes of Liverpool are also tracking the England international as they look to enter into new era post Jurgen Clop this summer.

Chelsea have spent almost a billion pounds on new signings since Todd Boehly took over the keys of Stamford Bridge, but they still haven’t reaped dividends for the money they have spent.

Palmer’s charisma and character, complemented by his dribbling and his passing distribution, have been influential under Mauricio Pochettino’s tutelage. The 21-year-old’s technical ability is also much more mature than his age.
