Report: Italian giants could provide competition to Chelsea for the signature of 22-year-old forward

Juventus join Chelsea in race for Michael Olise

Juventus are preparing an offer for Chelsea and Manchester United target Michael Olise. The forward came close to joining the Blues last summer before signing a new contract with Crystal Palace.

According to the Telegraph, (h/t Express), the Serie A club is keen to sign him despite facing competition from the West Londoners and United. Olise has barely played this season after sustaining frequent injuries.

Juventus won’t be able to match Premier League offers, so they will try to do a swap deal, which will see Matias Soule go to Palace. Soule operates from a similar position and has been productive this campaign, scoring 10 goals and making two assists in 23 Serie A appearances.

Olise’s presence has given Palace Side innovativeness on the pitch; the 22-year-old boasts six goals and three assists in 11 appearances. But the youngster is likely to miss the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury.

Despite being injury-prone this season, Olise continues to attract interest from the top clubs and now the queue of teams is set to extend after Juventus become the new side to join the Blues and United.

Olise would have missed half of the season due to injury, therefore it’s a good thing we didn’t sign him this summer. The fact that we no longer require any players who are prone to injuries is crucial since we are already dealing with an array of injured players and Olise’s signing isn’t necessary because we already have two players, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke who can operate from his position.

Madueke seems to have found his form this season, while Palmer has been the best for us, scoring 10 goals in the league. So maybe we should focus more on bringing in a striker instead of another playmaker. Olise boasts plenty of talent, and his six goals are enough to indicate he will certainly become a big player as long if he doesn’t suffer injuries frequently.
