Alan Shearer and Micah Richards advise Arsenal to make move for Chelsea target Victor Osimhen
Pundits have advised Arsenal to go for Chelsea target Victor Osimhen instead of Ivan Toney in the January transfer window as the Gunners are enduring a lack of efficiency in front of goals currently.
Their recent slump in form has seen them win only one game since December in their last seven fixtures and also get eliminated from the FA Cup. They are now fourth in the Premier League table.
Currently, forward Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have combined for just eight goals in the Premier League, which has raised concern over their title push this season, and fans have demanded the signing of a prolific striker.
And pundits such as Alan Shearer and Micah Richards have also told the Gunners which players they should go for who will provide a serious threat in front of the net.
Shearer wants the Gunners to sign Osimhen instead of Toney, and Richards also agrees with the former Newcastle player, (h/t Metro), and says:
‘‘Osimhen would be my one for Arsenal.’’
Both pundits know Osimhen offers plenty of qualities as a striker and will be a massive addition to the club he joins. By the coming summer, Chelsea will face heavy interest in the signing of Osimhen, and it’s unlikely that the Gunners will get the Nigerian forward in January as Napoli will be in no mood to sell their forward given their current poor season.
Meanwhile, Toney has promised Brentford that he wants to help the club get to the bottom of the table. So as of now, the Gunners might have to look somewhere else or break the bank for either Toney or Osimhen.
