Willian admits he would ‘sign contract tomorrow’ if Chelsea demands are met

As reported by the Daily Star, Chelsea contract rebel Willian has admitted that he will put pen to paper on a new deal ‘tomorrow’ itself, if the club meets his demands.

Willian has been with Chelsea since the summer of 2013 and has grown into a key player for the team under each of the managers he has played during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Having taken over the No.10 jersey this season following the departure of Eden Hazard, the veteran winger has been one of our better players. Till date, he has contributed with 11 goals and 9 assists in 45 matches across all competitions in 2019/20.

Willian’s form has been particularly impressive since the resumption of the season in June. The Brazilian has come up with the goods in crucial moments, proving his worth to Frank Lampard’s side.

However, his future at the club remains uncertain as his contract nears expiry. While he agreed a short-term extension to see out the season last month, little progress has been made on a new long-term deal.

The main bone of contention in the deal going through is that Willian is seeking a three-year deal, which Chelsea are not willing to offer. The club is willing to hand him a two-year extension. (h/t Daily Star)

Now, Willian has revealed that he is ready to sign a new contract with Chelsea, the moment his demands are met. (h/t Daily Star)

“This is what I asked the club for, three years of contract. If you give me that, I’ll get the pen and sign the contract tomorrow.”

Given his experience and proven pedigree, Willian can continue be an important player under Lampard. Hopefully, the two parties are able to reach a middle ground in negotiations at the earliest.
