Barcelona are willing to sell Raphinha amid interest from Chelsea
Chelsea are linked with Barcelona star Raphinha, whose future remains uncertain at the Spanish club after his recent decline in form, and this has alerted several clubs.
Sport, a Spanish daily, reports that (h/t ESPN), Chelsea and Newcastle United are among the teams that have indicated interest in signing the 26-year-old and Barcelona are still willing to sell.
The Blues have had a long interest in acquiring the former Leeds United forward, though the Brazilian forward turned down a transfer to Stamford Bridge in 2021 when Barcelona came calling.
Blues could once again have a chance to sign their old target, as the Spanish club is open to selling him despite what Catalan giants sporting director Deco believes the Brazilian forward can play a fundamental role for the Blaugrana.
Raphinha has only scored two goals in 11 appearances for Barcelona this season. Barcelona should make a decision on selling Raphinha, given they don’t have enough options besides Lamine Yamal.
Since Ousmane Dembele left, the Spanish club only has Yamal and Raphinha, who can operate from the right wing. Meanwhile, Chelsea have Cole Palmer, and going for the Brazilian doesn’t make sense now. We also have Noni Madueke and Angelo Gabriel.
It makes little sense to pursue him at this time because we have enough right-wing candidates available. Palmer has been fantastic, and if we sign Raphinha, there will be competition on the right flank, which shouldn’t exist considering how great Palmer has been for us. Madueke will also need playing time because he hasn’t played much this season, so signing Raphinha will completely eliminate his chances of playing time.

Gabriel, who is currently at Strasbourg, has shown promise, and if he keeps up such a level of work, the Blues may give him another chance to play next season. Hence, it is best for us not to pursue Raphinha.
