Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez sends a message to fans ahead of the upcoming clash vs Brentford
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has sent a clear message of support to manager Mauricio Pochettino by posting “Trust the process” on social media ahead of Saturday’s clash with Brentford.
The Blues welcome their west London rivals to Stamford Bridge looking to bounce back from a frustrating 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out. Despite leading 2-0, defensive errors allowed the Gunners to battle back and claim a point from the derby. While we dropped points, there was much promise to go about.
In the aftermath, big-money January signing Enzo Fernandez took to Instagram with a post captioned simply: “Trust the process.” (h/t football.london)
The short message was a show of faith in Mauricio Pochettino‘s work since taking charge of an expensively assembled but youthful Chelsea squad. Speaking after the Arsenal stalemate, Pochettino had urged patience as he continues moulding his new-look side.
“We are still a really young team and we know each other and still not all of the squad are ready to compete for their place.”
By echoing Pochettino’s call for belief in the ongoing project at Stamford Bridge, Fernandez sent a rallying cry to teammates and supporters. Hopefully, others too pick up on his enthusiasm and keep up their energy and motivation levels.
The Argentine arrived from Benfica for £106.8m in January as one of several fresh faces under Todd Boehly’s new regime. Fernandez has instantly become a key figure in Pochettino’s midfield with his tenacious ball-winning and passing range. The 23-year-old World Cup winner has shown faith in his boss to eventually get Chelsea challenging again.
After three straight wins, Pochettino insisted the Blues remain on an upward curve despite dropping points against Arsenal. Fernandez is clearly aligned with his manager’s assessment, taking to social media to urge everyone associated with Chelsea to stay patient and trusting.
