Thomas Frank says Brentford will sell Chelsea target Ivan Toney for the right price
Chelsea have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Ivan Toney, as Thomas Frank has confirmed that Brentford will sell their star man but only for the right price.
Chelsea are expecting to make a move for the striker in January but will face competition from other clubs. However, Toney has yet to feature in a game this season, as he is currently serving an eight-month ban after being found guilty of betting.
The 27-year-old has begun his training and will return to action in January, but it could be for another team as the Blues remain keen on adding a proven striker to the squad. Adding him will give Mauricio Pochettino a reliable player to lead the line.
Brentford will finally have to part ways with their star centre-forward, and the Bees boss says the club will Toney for an appropriate price. (h/t Metro), Speaking to Sky Sports, Frank said:
‘’I think every club in the world is a selling club, except five or six clubs. We are a selling club if the right price is there. Yeah, I think so. I understand why there are a lot of rumours out there about him.”
‘’He scored 20 goals in the Premier League last year for, of course, a very good Brentford side, but of course we are not creating as many chances as the top six or seven teams. So imagine him on a top team; he’d easily score 20 or 25 goals for me. I think he’s composed; he’s a good finisher with a top mentality, so I understand why clubs are looking at him.”
A prolific goalscorer, Toney is one of the best English strikers in the league today. Despite the controversies surrounding him, the 27-year-old would be a solid addition to the Blues roster as they seek a return to domestic and continental prominence.
Toney is an established striker who can make a big difference in a game, and given the support that he will be given, the players operating behind him will be of the highest calibre. As of right now, we are not aware of the correct amount Brentford is seeking, but his signing will be a huge benefit for us.

He scored 20 goals with a respectable Brentford team last season, and if he joins a team with top players alongside him, he could potentially be able to rack up more than 20 goals in a season. However, his fitness will be a concern because he will start playing again in January after his suspension is lifted.
