Mauricio Pochettino confirms that Trevoh Chalobah is a part of his plans at Chelsea
Trevoh Chalobah is part of the plans at Chelsea, according to Mauricio Pochettino, despite accusations that he had been cut from the team. The centre-back has turned into a peripheral figure at the club following his fall from grace in recent months.
The Blues were willing to let Chalobah go since it seemed he was close to joining Bayern Munich. But the deal fell through and a Nottingham Forest bid for Chalobah also got nowhere on deadline day.
The Blues accepted a deadline proposal from Forest for the centre-back, but the academy star was reluctant to leave the West Londoners. But it’s doubtful if he will receive enough game time at the club.
The 24-year-old is currently nursing an injury, and it remains uncertain when he will return to action. The centre-back has also fallen down the pecking order and is unlikely to be thrust into the starting XI upon his return.
However, Pochettino has updated the 24-year-old’s availability after rumours of the player being frozen out of the squad. Speaking to the media, he said, quoted by Fabrizio Romano:
“Of course he’s part of my plans, yes. I am Chelsea; I am the coach and his future is going to be involved in my plan. No one is going to decide for me”.
Pochettino should undoubtedly make important decisions about the players because he knows who he wants at the club and who he doesn’t. Chalobah currently appears to be on the roster for this season’s games.
However, it is unknown whether he will actually see enough action. Chalobah will fall further down the pecking order when Benoit Badiashile returns from injury.

He is 24 and should make better decisions for his playing career, just like Ruben Loftus-Cheek did because he knew he wouldn’t get enough game time at Chelsea, so he left. Chalobah could follow the same example as well because he is young and has plenty of years ahead of him.
