John Terry says Mauricio Pochettino is the right man for Chelsea to turn things around
Chelsea icon John Terry has backed Mauricio Pochettino to turn things around and claimed he is the right man for the Chelsea job. The Argentine has not gotten off to the best of starts, winning just one of the opening four Premier League matches this season.
Pochettino’s appointment was met with much optimism, and there was a feeling he was the right man for the job based on pre-season results. But that was instantly dusted off as Chelsea failed to make their chances count, falling to abject defeats against West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.
Chelsea has made substantial strides with regard to performance, and recent results seem to indicate that they are the superior team. There has only been one problem, and that is scoring goals. In fact, we have scored more than once just in one match this season in the Premier League, against bottom-placed Luton Town.
Terry feels that if given time, the Argentine manager will also sort it out and eventually turn the tide around. Speaking to TalkSport (h/t Metro), he said:
“I love Poch. I’ve met him a couple of times and had the privilege to be around him at the training ground. He works the players very hard, which is tactically amazing. I think, given time, he’s definitely the right man for the job.”
Having worked with some of the best managers in world football, Terry has a good idea of what the bigger names think like. The fact that Pochettino rubbed off on him is a good indication and should also fill us fans with optimism going forward.
We are restless with Pochettino because Chelsea supporters have never witnessed the club going through a refurbishing process. Instead, we have only seen the hiring and firing of managers when results have been subpar and performances have been drab. However, because the club has so many young players who will eventually find their form once they mesh with one another, we must view the team differently.

Pochettino has proven his credentials, and he is certainly the right manager to turn the fortunes of the club around. He has been given good financial backing and has the tools to change the course of Chelsea soon, and we believe once the club hits that winning mentality, we will never look back.
