Daniel Sturridge is again in the papers, as Liverpool’s dismal goalscoring record, coupled with Fabio Borini’s injury, means they will be on the lookout for a striker yet again this January.

Sturridge has featured for Chelsea just four times from the bench this season, and with the Blues sticking to a one-up-front mentality, on top of rumours that Falcao may join in 2013, means this move could well be in the making.

Corinthians star playmaker Paulinho, has also been in the news, as news that both us and Arsenal may be interested in signing the star. The 24 year-old has been told to stay by his current boss, and that ‘Money will not be enough’ if anyone wants to sign the star.

Moving into France, there are also rumours a move for Loic Remy may be on the cards, possibly if Falcao doesn’t join. The Marseille hitman has scored 27 goals in 65 games, and has already expressed his desire to leave the French club. Bitter rivals Spurs we’re in the market for him last summer, but with their signings of Adebayor and Dempsey, the path seems clear for a bid.

At the back, rumours that Ashley Cole is on the brink of a move have been circling all week, but newest high-rollers Paris Saint-Germain have been quick to distance themselves from any bid, one that would see Cole link up with former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Last but not least, should Chelsea want to sign Falcao, it should be in their hands if they do, as Athletico Madrid club president conceded that should a team match his buy-out clause, they really can’t do much to keep him. However, he does believe Falcao will make the ‘right decision’ and stay in Spain. Right decision for who? Probably only Athletico Madrid.

As always, there will be hundreds of rumours flying about, although I do believe Sturridge may well be heading off in January, as he is no doubt going to be unhappy at being on the bench. Who will replace him? Who knows, but if Roman does break the bank and punt for Falcao, will in be as easy as to change formation and play him along side Torres?
