Fenerbahce interested in Chelsea outcast Malang Sarr
Chelsea defender Malang Sarr is attracting interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the ongoing transfer window, according to football.london.
The Istanbul-based club are looking to acquire the services of the centre-back this summer. As a result, there is still a chance that the French national could part ways with the Blues in the final few days before the deadline.
As things stand, the 24-year-old is not in the Stamford Bridge side’s plans. To that end, he is expected to leave the West London club soon.
However, before Fenerbahce can pursue Sarr, they need to sell one of their current options first in order to make progress. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the Super Lig outfit will make a move for the defender.
Chelsea signed the French national in the summer of 2020 from OGC Nice. The centre-back was immediately loaned out to FC Porto for the 20202/21 term but was unable to get regular game time in Portugal.
Then, Sarr returned to the Stamford Bridge side. However, the defender was unable to get opportunities at the Blues and left for AS Monaco last season. Unfortunately, the French national did not enjoy a fruitful spell at the Red and Whites, either.
At Chelsea, the backline is stacked with an abundance of talent at the moment. Wesley Fofana got injured earlier this summer. However, we ended up singing Axel Disasi from Monaco.
We also have the veteran Thiago Silva in our ranks. Levi Colwill has also been called upon by Mauricio Pochettino at the start of the new season. Benoit Badiashile is also at the gaffer’s disposal.
