Juventus discussed Dusan Vlahovic in meeting with Chelsea
Giovanni Manna, the sporting director of Juventus, travelled to London recently and spoke with Chelsea, where the signing of Dusan Vlahovic was discussed, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Metro).
The Blues have opened talks with the Old Lady regarding acquiring the services of the Serbia international in the upcoming transfer window. Mauricio Pochettino, who was recently appointed the new head coach of the Stamford Bridge side, is keen on adding a number nine to his ranks this summer.
To that end, Chelsea have Vlahovic on their radar. The Bianconeri are open to parting ways with the 23-year-old in the coming months after missing out on Champions League football.
After the Serie A giants were handed a 10-point deduction, they finished seventh in the league last season. In order to bolster their finances, the Italian outfit want £68.7 million for their striker.
Juventus signed the Serbian from Fiorentina in January 2022. However, the forward has enjoyed a mixed spell at the Old Lady and has not lived up to the expectations so far.
In the 2022/23 campaign, Vlahovic made 42 appearances in all competitions for the Bianconeri. However, he found the back of the net just 14 times and provided four assists.
Chelsea’s attack has seemingly lacked a prolific goalscorer for some time now. The likes of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic have left a lot to be desired in front of goal.
We signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling last summer. But they were unable to solve our attacking woes in the previous season. The Stamford Bridge side also have a decision to make regarding Romelu Lukaku.

Vlahovic has been underwhelming at Juventus. But the Serbian is still young and has a lot of potential. However, it remains to be seen whether the Blues will opt to match Juventus’ asking price.
