Chelsea star Kalidou Koulibaly sends congratulatory message to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis
Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly sent a congratulatory message to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis following their Serie A title win for the first time since 1990.
Napoli claimed the Serie A title after 33 years following their 1-1 draw against Udinese. Chelsea target Victor Osimhen scored the equaliser in the game to hand the club the Scudetto.
Koulibaly played for Napoli until last summer and won the Coppa Italia before he joined the Blues in the previous summer window for a £34 million deal. The Senegalese player, 31, has participated in 22 Premier League games since joining us, although his impact at West London has been minimal.
Napoli are nevertheless dear to his heart, and the center-back has spent the majority of his playing time with the Serie A team. Given that his former teammates have now made history, it is only natural for Koulibaly to wish them well.
Napoli President De Laurentiis, (h/t Metro), took to Twitter and wrote:
‘’I received this from Kalidou and will share it with you: Best wishes, President, for your work. This Scudetto had been predicted for a long time. And now it has arrived. I wish you many more titles.”
“Thank you for giving me the chance to play for this shirt and this city. Forza Napoli Sempre.”
It is customary to congratulate your former team when they accomplish something after many years, and Koulibaly was among the team’s appearance makers with 317 appearances for the Serie A powerhouses. Napoli has been incredibly excellent this year; they were superior to teams in Serie A like Inter Milan, AC Milan, and AS Roma and unquestionably deserved the championship.
Although the 31-year-old has performed well enough for Chelsea thus far, he hasn’t been all that beneficial, and Juventus are interested in his services. So his future at Chelsea is also in doubt.
