“Sometimes you have lows”- Chelsea forward spills the beans on dressing room sentiment to recent struggles

"No chance" of Chelsea star leaving Stamford Bridge to join Jose Mourinho's team, confirms Fabrizio Romano

Raheem Sterling reveals how the Chelsea dressing room reacts to recent reversals

Raheem Sterling revealed that the players in the Chelsea locker room simply stare at the walls after a loss and don’t say anything.

Frank Lampard was named Chelsea’s interim manager until the end of the season as the Blues look for a permanent replacement ahead of the 2023/23 season. Chelsea are now in the bottom half of the standings and have lost all five of their games under Lampard.

Sterling was the first player signed by owner Todd Boehly and has had a rather mixed spell at Stamford Bridge. While he has had fleeting moments of brilliance, the transfer hasn’t quite turned into the hit we envisaged.

And the former Manchester City attacker acknowledged the star-studded team is in pain following a string of losses. The England international, however, admitted to the Sun (h/t Daily Mail) that he has never consistently lost during his time at City:

It isn’t really something we want to hear as Chelsea fans. Especially from a player who hasn’t really hit his stride to become an unstoppable asset.

”Sometimes you have lows. I haven’t been in this situation in my career so far, but I am more than up to the challenge.”

‘We are disappointed when we come off the pitch and feel angry and disappointed. There are times when we finish a game, you just sit in the changing room looking into space because you can’t understand what has just happened.”

We have now lost five games on the spin, which explains the uncertainty we are now in. It is evident that you don’t want to speak about anything after a defeat. Meanwhile, Sterling is accurate in his statement, since losing to us in the Champions League final, Manchester City have proven to be a force to be reckoned with and have routinely advanced to the tournament’s semifinals.

But it’s clear that under Pep Guardiola, they didn’t immediately start winning games, even though he required plenty of time for a squad redesign and the board’s support to turn this City team into a productive one.

This our board ought to do as well, as our new manager will have a sizable workload the following season. Hopefully, the only way now is up.
