Luis Enrique is among the managers linked with Chelsea to replace Graham Potter
Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Luis Enrique is admired by Chelsea, who may want to make him Graham Potter’s replacement.
According to Romano, the former Spain national team boss is seeking a management position. He might agree to make the switch to Stamford Bridge if the team had big aspirations and a long-term vision.
As the Blues are now without a manager, Bruno Saltor has assumed control as interim manager. He will continue in that role until the West Londoners find a new boss.
Nonetheless, the club has been linked to a variety of managers, including Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann. Chelsea will host Liverpool on Tuesday night in their first game since sacking Potter.
However (h/t Football.London), Romano feels Chelsea could either appoint Nagelsmann or Enrique. The transfer journalist said this about how the former Spain manager feels:
The manager “dreams” of working in the Premier League, with hopes of returning to work as soon as possible. He would need a long-term project and a clear plan, which is something that could suit both parties amid reported interest.
Given that Enrique guided Barcelona to a treble in his first season at the club and Spain to the 2020 Euro semi final and UEFA Nations League final, he will be a fine choice for Chelsea. However, he cannot afford to underachieve as he did with Spain in Qatar.
It would also be pointless to discuss his managerial experience at AS Roma and Celta Vigo because even Pep Guardiola struggled to play with Manuel Pellegrini’s league-winning team until overhauling it. Time should be given to Enrique or anyone else who is assigned the role.

The fact that the Spanish manager was successful at Barcelona and helped the team win the Champions League shows that he was able to manage players with big personalities. And if he signs with the Blues, he has talented players with whom more trophies are achievable.
