Aston Villa ‘considering’ move for Inter Milan striker and Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku

Premier League rivals Aston Villa are ‘considering’ a move for Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan from Chelsea, according to Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes (h/t The Sun).

The Lions admire the Belgium international and are looking to get a hold of his signature. However, the forward is keen on extending his stay with the Nerazzurri.

However, the Villans and Simone Inzaghi’s team may find it hard to acquire the 29-year-old’s services. They may be unable to offer the amount the Stamford Bridge side or the striker may ask for.

Villa sacked Steven Gerard earlier in the season and appointed Unai Emery in the dugout. The Spanish manager has Ollie Watkins as the only established natural number nine in the squad at the moment.

In January, the Villa Park side sold Danny Ings to West Ham United. They only ended up bringing Jhon Duran from Chicago Fire to bolster their front line in the previous transfer window.

Lukaku’s first spell at Chelsea came when he signed for us in the summer of 2011. Subsequently, he impressed on loan with West Bromwich Albion and Everton. The Toffees then got him on a permanent deal.

After thriving in the English top flight at the Goodison Park side, Manchester United came knocking for the Belgian’s signature. However, the Red Devils sold him to Inter after just two seasons.

With the Serie A giants, Lukaku built up his reputation once more, helping the Nerazzurri win the Scudetto in the 202/21 campaign. Then, Chelsea were compelled to re-sign the striker. However, after underwhelming in West London, the Blues shipped him off on a temporary move back to Italy.
