Jamie O’Hara argues Graham Potter must win his next three matches if he wants to remain at Chelsea

If Graham Potter fails to reverse the situation in the next three Chelsea games, he could find himself without a job as per Jamie O’Hara.

O’Hara feels the Blues’ boss could be fired if his team doesn’t win its next three games. In their previous 10 games across all competitions, Chelsea enjoyed just one victory prior to their trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Potter’s status at Stamford Bridge is under intense threat. Chelsea will host Leeds United the following Saturday before hosting Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 match. Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Potter and co have it all to do at home.

And it’s anticipated that these three games will determine Potter’s future at Chelsea, despite support from owner Bobby Boehly. After all, there is only so much time that can be afforded given the investment in the squad.

Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara thinks Potter’s last game as coach could be against Dortmund on March 7. O’Hara disagrees with the assertion that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly should support Potter even if results do not improve. Results, after all, do matter.

In an interview with Talking Sports, (h/t Express.UK), O’Hara assessed Potter’s predicament and expressed his belief as to what Chelsea should do with the 47-year-old’s future if he fails to win the next three games.

Graham Potter’s next three games. He’s got Tottenham tomorrow, which is massive; then he’s got Leeds; and then he’s got Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

If sacking Potter is the result, we should do it before the season is unsalvagable. He could certainly see out the season but unless results pick up, serious questions should be asked if he can lead us to glory in the coming seasons.

But Boehly has his own rule and wants the manager to stay on because he thinks Chelsea should start exercising patience and that not always sacking managers is the best course of action.

Every team wants to see results right away in today’s fast-paced game of football, but few clubs let their manager establish their management style. Now is the time for the Blues to stick with the former Swansea City manager.

However, Potter has all the necessary qualities to manage our team, it will only be a matter of time before we start to see success because he is an experienced manager and knows what he is doing.
