Cesc Fabregas recommends Spain international to Chelsea as potential signing

Chelsea target Dani Olmo wants to move to Manchester City

Transfer News: Cesc Fabregas has recommended that Chelsea sign RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo

Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has recommended that his former club sign RB Leipzig and Spanish attacking midfielder Dani Olmo. He gave this opinion while doing a Twitter Q&A (h/t Metro).

The former Blues midfielder joined the west London side in 2014 from La Liga giants Barcelona. He spent five years at the club, before leaving us to join AS Monaco in 2019. The 35-year-old is currently playing for Serie B side Como.

When asked by Joe Krishnan about one Spanish player that the blues should sign if there was no problem of any money, this is what the former midfielder replied:

“Dani Olmo could be a great addition if Chelsea continues to play in this system.”

Olmo joined the German club in from Dinamo Zagreb. Since then, the Spaniard has been a crucial part for them and has the ability to play even on the wings apart from being deployed as an attacking midfielder.

The 24-year-old also featured in all four games for his country at the World Cup, scoring and assisting one each as they crashed out after losing to Morocco 3-0 on penalties in the Round of 16. A versatile midfielder, he could be a good option to have in the squad.

Chelsea have been linked with quite a few midfielders. Graham Potter needs to revamp that department and the likes of Jude Bellingham and Andrey Santos have been linked with a move to west London.

Olmo sees his current contract expire in 2024 (transfermarkt). While there has been no links of the player with us, the Bundesliga side will know that January is the best time to cash in on the Spaniard, should any club come knocking on their doors for his services.

More Chelsea News:

If an experienced midfielder like Fabregas is recommending a player, it must be he has seen something in him. He is also likely to be a cheaper option than other targets and it remains to be seen if the west London club make any move for the 24-year-old next month.
