Juventus are ready to offload three players to sign Chelsea star Mason Mount
According to Calciomercatoweb (h/t Daily Mail), Italian giants Juventus are ready to offload three players in order to make an audacious bid for Chelsea star Mason Mount.
Mount has a contract at Chelsea that expires in June 2024 (Transfermarkt). He was offered a new contract by the Blues but rejected it. More negotiations regarding an extension are due to happen after the World Cup.
Juventus boss Max Allegri is a big fan of the midfielder, who was part of the England squad that got beaten by France in the quarter-final of the World Cup.
The report further states that the Old Lady are ready to offload three midfield players – Weston McKennie, Adrien Rabiot and Leandro Paredes to make space for a bid to sign Mount.
The Englishman’s reluctance to agree on a new deal with Chelsea has encouraged the Italian side to think they are in for a chance to get him. Rabiot has been linked with the Blues in the last few weeks.
Mount has been one of the best players in the Chelsea squad in the last two years. His consistency and work rate for the team has been second to none.
Following on from impressive numbers last season that read 11 goals and 10 assists in 32 league appearances, the 23-year-old had a slow start to this season with two goals and two assists in 14 league appearances. But, there are a lot of games to improve on that, and the Blues would need him to if they are to improve their position in the table.
Mount has been touted as a future captain material for Chelsea. Co-owner Todd Boehly has made it clear that he does not want to lose the player at any cost.

However, the extension is not signed yet. Fans would be worried if this lingers on for another few months, as it would invite clubs like Juventus to do more groundwork on the potential to sign him.
