Premier League rivals Newcastle United are eyeing up a move for Chelsea star Christian Pulisic in the upcoming transfer window, according to the Mirror.

The Magpies are looking to sign a winger and the USMNT star is one of the options Eddie Howe’s team have in mind. Leeds United forward Jack Harrison and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Leandro Trossard are also on the Toons’ list.

Manchester United and Premier League table-toppers Arsenal are also interested in the 24-year-old Old. They want the forward on loan, but the Blues are looking to sell him.

Newcastle are prepared to sign Pulisic on a permanent deal in January. However, the Stamford Bridge side will want around £40 million for the USMNT star.

The Red Devils recently lost Cristiano Ronaldo. Erik ten Hag’s options up front look light. On the other hand, Mikel Arteta has suffered an injury setback, with Gabriel Jesus undergoing knee surgery after picking up a knock at the 2022 World Cup.

Chelsea signed Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019. However, he spent half a season on loan in Germany before making his way to West London.

Unfortunately, the USMNT star has been underwhelming for most of his time at the Stamford Bridge side. In the current campaign, he has started just three games in the PL for us.

However, the 24-year-old showed glimpses of his talent at the 2022 World Cup. The winger was pivotal for the Americans as they made it to the round of 16 in Qatar, only to be beaten by the Netherlands.

It would not be wise for the club to let go of Pulisic, especially to a team like Newcastle, who are fighting for a top-four spot. Thus, it would be better for Chelsea to keep a hold of the USMNT star. Hopefully, he can help find a bit of success in the rest of the campaign.
