Yeremy Pino and Lorenzo Pellegrini are both on Chelsea’s radar for the January transfer window
Villareal’s Yeremy Pino and AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini are both on the radar of Chelsea for the January transfer window. This is according to The Telegraph (h/t Metro).
The Blues are looking to strengthen their midfield in the winter for the second half of the season. The west London club have been inconsistent so far and are currently eight on the table, eight behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
And it now looks that Graham Potter and co would like to add strength to their midfield, which has not lived up to the expectations so far this season.
Pino has struggled this season in La Liga. The Spanish winger has played in 19 games so far for the Yellow Submarines in all competitions, scoring only one goal and registering one assist in the process.
The 20-year-old is still a regular for Quique Setien and can be deployed on either side of the wing. With the futures of Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech still uncertain, the 20-year-old could be a possible replacement for either of them.
Meanwhile, Pellegrini has been one of the best players for Roma this season. The attacking midfielder, who was the captain of Jose Mourinho’s side has featured in 18 games so far in all competitions, scoring four and assisting another seven in the process.
Potter could do with another midfielder within his ranks. N’Golo Kante has not featured for the club since August, while Jorginho sees his contract expire next summer. Conor Gallagher and Mateo Kovacic have had their moments, but one would feel that an experienced midfielder would be helpful.

It remains to be seen if the Blues make any offer for either of them. The west London side have been disappointing in the first half of the season. But fans will hope for improvement in the second half which begins with the club hosting Bournemouth on 27th December.
