Benjamin Sesko’s agent spotted with Chelsea honchos Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali during UCL clash
RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko’s agent was spotted with Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali during the two sides’ clash in the Champions League last Tuesday.
The Blues won the game 2-1 courtesy of goals from Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz and secured their place in the last 16 of the competition for this season.
Sesko did not start the game but came on as a substitute in the 61st minute. And now, football correspondent Jacque Talbot has shared a picture of Sesko’s agent along with the two Chelsea co-owners via his Twitter account.
This would inevitably lead to speculation regarding the future of the 19-year-old striker. The Blues were after all linked with a move for the Slovenian international this summer.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also believed to have an interest in the young striker and all three clubs are still exploring options to sign the striker. Sesko will be joining RB Leipzig next summer for £21.6 million.
Although this is a setback, it does not mean the Blues cannot make a move for him. There is no doubt that Leipzig will look to sell the 19-year-old for a profit, but whether they do it next summer or in 2024 remains to be seen.
Chelsea signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, although he could be considered a short-term solution to the personnel problem in attack. An up-and-coming striker is needed at the club and Sesko fits that bill. The Slovenian has played 21 times in all competitions this season so far and has scored six goals in the process.
While Armando Broja is one option available, adding another young striker will only help the west London club. Sesko has been a brilliant goal-scorer for his club and country in his short professional career so far.
