Willian rejects new two-year contract at Chelsea

According to Brazilian outlet UOL (h/t Daily Mail), Chelsea’s Brazilian star Willian has rejected a new two-year contract at the club.

The 31-year-old is believed to be unhappy at the duration and is holding out for a three-year deal instead.

Willian has been at Chelsea for seven years, having joined the Blues from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013. He has since gone on to make 328 appearances for the club while scoring and assisting 58 goals each.

The Samba star will be out of contract in the summer, meaning is free to discuss terms with foreign clubs regarding a summer move.

The report goes on to say that the player has received approaches from other Premier League clubs.

Speaking to Esporte Interativo (h/t Daily Mail), Willian is unhappy that Chelsea won’t budge on their two-year contract offer.

“I said I wanted three more years. The situation is difficult because of this, I really don’t know if it will be possible.”

Willian has remained professional and has not let disagreements regarding his future affect his present performances. He is still committed to ensuring Chelsea win as many matches as possible until the end of the season (h/t Daily Mail).
