Mauricio Pochettino/Manager
After the 2022–23 season, Mauricio Pochettino was named the club’s new manager, ushering in a new era for Chelsea.
Prior to his after Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel were fired as Chelsea’s managers, Frank Lampard was named interim manager for a short spell.
However, thus far, the Blues’ performance has witnessed a turnaround, and there are already encouraging indicators the team has the talent to compete in the Premier League once their injured key players return.
Under Pochettino, Chelsea have won twice, drawn once, and lost once in all competitions.
Jesus Perez/Assistant Manager
Perez started his career at a top club as a fitness coach for Spanish club Espanyol when Mauricio Pochettino was head coach. Since then he has followed Pochettino to every club as his assistant coach.
Along with Pochettino, Perez is also renowned for his aggressive training and testing player’s endurance. Chelsea players spent a gruelling pre-season where they were part of the Dracon test.
Toni Jimenez/Goalkeeper coach
Toni Jimenez has been with Pochettino during his Espanyol days. However, he started his coaching career at Girona before returning to Espanyol as a goalkeeper coach and later became assistant to Pochettno during their success.
Jimenez has also helped Spain to win a 1992 Olympic gold Medal and played for Atletico Madrid and Elche before choosing goalkeeping coach path after his retirement.
Miguel D’Agostino/Assistant Coach
Miguel D’Agostino plenty of European clubs during his playing career and after retiring from football he commenced his coaching career in France before going to Dubai. He later returned to Europe to work with Pochettino at Espanol primarily in a scouting role.
Since then he has been Pochettino’s backroom staff at Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain and now Chelsea.
Bruno Saltor Grau/Assistiant Coach
Former Brighton player Bruno Saltor Grau has been in coaching since retiring at the end of the 2018/19 season and joined Graham Potter in moving to Stamford Bridge in 2022 and also part of Pochettino’s staff for the current season.
The Spaniard is considered a legend at Brighton, having spent a successful seven years on the South Coast. He guided the club as captain to a first promotion to the top flight in 34 years.
Sebastiano Pochettino/Assistan coach
Sebastiano Pochettino is Mauricio’s son who was part of the sports science team at Tottenham Hotspur in 2016 alongside his father. He later became their fitness coach at Tottenham three years later when the Spurs reached the Champions League final in 2018.
He followed his dad at Paris Saint-Germain as their fitness coach when PSG won Coupe de France in 2021 and Ligue 1 the following the same year. He is now Chelsea’s fitness coach.
Ben Roberts/Goalkeeper Coach
Former Middlesbrough keeper Ben Roberts started against Chelsea in the 1997 FA Cup final and spent time at Yeovil Town, Charlton Athletic and Brighton in a coaching capacity before coming to Stamford Bridge with Graham Potter. However, Roberts has been to stay with Pochettino to help get the squad back into the competitive side.
Henrique Hilario/ Goalkeeping Coach
Henrique Hilario has been part of Chelsea since his youth time and made 39 appearances for the club from 2006 to 2014. He also won the Champions League with Porto and has represented many top clubs and has one Portugal cap.
He is now working as a goalkeeper coach at Chelsea and is part of Pochettino’s backroom staff.
James Russell/Assistant Goalkeeping Coach
James Russell has been working at Chelsea since 2009 and has since worked with academy players before he was promoted to work with Hilario for the first-team goalkeeping work in 2019/20.
Claude Makelele/Technical Mentor
Claude Makelele is one of the greatest Chelsea players who 217 appearances. After retiring from Chelsea the Frenchman joined Carlo Ancelotti at PSG as their backroom coaching staff before joining Swansea City with coach Paul Clement as assistant manager. The former midfielder has also managed Belgium clubs such as Eupen and Bastia.
Makelele is now working individually with Chelsea academy players assessing their technical performance both in training and in matches.
Carlo Cudicini/Club Ambassador and Loan Technical Coach
One of the most talented and popular goalkeepers in Blues history, Carlo Cudicini made 216 appearances during his 10 years at Stamford Bridge between 1999 and 2009, keeping 101 clean sheets.
In July 2016 he started a dual role when he also became assistant to the newly appointed then-head coach Antonio Conte, a job he continued under Maurizio Sarri in 2018/19.
In the summer of 2019, Cudicini changed roles to become one of our loan player technical coaches. He is also a club ambassador now.
Neil Bath/Director of Football Development & Operations
Neil Bath joined the Chelsea Schoolboys coaching staff part-time in 1993 and has worked his way up to the top of the Academy structure.
In 2002 he was appointed assistant Academy director with a responsibility for the Under 8-16 age groups and in the summer of 2004, he became Academy manager. In 2011 his role was further extended to oversee the Reserves/Under-21 set-up as head of youth development.
In July 2020 he was the recipient of the Eamonn Dolan Award in recognition of excellent work in youth development at Chelsea FC.
Bath was appointed Director of Football Development and Operations in November 2022.
Andy Myers/Loan players technical coach
As a player Andy Myers has featured in 100 senior appearances securing Chelsea Young Player of the Year in 1991 and aiding the club win the FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
Myers has been at Chelsea for decades and has helped nurture academy and senior players. He also spent a season managing Vitesse Arnhem club in 2016/17 before coming back to help Joe Edwards to build the 2017/18 squad.
