Transfer News: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admires Chelsea and USMNT star Christian Pulisic
According to The Daily Mail via The Express, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of Chelsea star Christian Pulisic as he prepares for life without Sadio Mane.
The 30-year-old looks set to leave Anfield after six eventful years on Merseyside. Mane has won all the major honours available to him at Liverpool and is now seeking a new challenge. Klopp and co will be left with a spot to fill in their roster and Pulisic has been touted as a player the German admires.
The USMNT winger is one of the finest young widemen in football. Klopp is familiar with the player and is a self-professed fan of the 23-year-old. Given that Pulisic has struggled to maintain consistency at Stamford Bridge, something’s got to give.
The fact that Klopp is keen on Pulisic to replace Mane is puzzling given that the former is primarily a right-winger. Mane performs on the left and if the Reds are looking for a direct replacement, the Chelsea star is not their man.
Despite Klopp’s approval, a deal for Pulisic appears unlikely at this point in time. While the USMNT star has struggled with injuries, his potential is clear for all to see.
With a new era set to dawn under Todd Boehly, Thomas Tuchel has a revamp on his hands. The likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech have struggled to maintain consistency and the Bleus will do well to retain Pulisic.
At 23, Pulisic is young enough to resurrect his career at Stamford Bridge. The winger is on his day an excellent force in attack, capable of being a match-winner. Losing him should not be an option and the Blues must do all they can to retain his services.

Liverpool are a direct rival to our ambitions and also single-handedly prevented us from winning two trophies last season. There is little reason for us to sell them one of our best young wingers.
