Chelsea superstar down offer from cash-rich European rival to make January switch

Chelsea manager Graham Potter will not indulge in contract talks with N'Golo Kante.

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante turned down an offer from PSG in the January transfer window

According to Le Parisien (h/t Daily Mail), Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante snubbed an offer to join PSG in the 2022 summer transfer window.

The 31-year-old has been on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain for a while now. It is believed that the French giants were also interested in securing his services in 2016 before Kante made the move to Stamford Bridge after helping Leicester City bag the Premier League title in a season that defied all odds.

The French international has since gone on to become a pivotal part of the setup at Chelsea. His ability to intercept opposition attacks coupled with the requisite skills to carry the ball forward has seen him play an instrumental part for both club and country.

The French midfielder has only one year left in his contract but the club could be looking to sign an extension and the player is also believed to be happy with his life in London. N’Golo Kante has now won the PL, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, FA Cup as well as the FIFA Club World Cup ever since arriving at the West London club.

N’Golo Kante is happy at Chelsea!

The former Leicester midfielder has cemented his place as an integral part of the squad under Thomas Tuchel. Kante alongside Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho have formed a pivotal partnership in the middle of the park for the Blues. The French star shows great determination and work ethic on the pitch and is something that young and upcoming midfielders should look to emulate.

The 31-year-old midfielder is also one of the most humble players despite having won a plethora of honours with both club and country. The youngsters in our dressing room can gain a world of wisdom simply by his presence, and the way he conducts himself both on and off the field.

Kante has become an integral part of Chelsea ever since his arrival

N’Golo Kante has now played 249 matches, bagging 13 goals and clocking 14 assists across all competitions for the London-based club to date. The midfielder still shows great hunger and desire for more and can be deployed in a central as well as defensive role in the middle of the park.

The fact that the French star snubbed what could possibly have been a very lucrative offer from the Parisiens is music to our ears. At a time of looming uncertainty, the club is staring in the face of a possible defensive exodus with Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Antonio Rudiger all looking set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

More Chelsea News

If the latest developments are to be believed then Kante has shown that he is happy at Chelsea and by the looks of it still has a lot to offer the club. His transfer has been one of our most effective purchases in recent years and we would be hoping that the former Leicester City man can help us bag more silverware before he finally has to make way for other players.
