Transfer News: Juventus willing to make offer to sign Chelsea star Jorginho this summer
According to the Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t The Express), Juventus are willing to make an offer to secure the services of Chelsea star Jorginho in this summer transfer window. He has arguably been the main orchestrator of our midfield under Thomas Tuchel, making him an important part of our team as a result.
The Italian midfielder will enter the final year of his current contract with the Blues after this season. His future at Stamford Bridge has recently been thrown into uncertainty after his agent Joao Santos revealed that his client dreams about returning to Serie A in the future.
With Juve showing interest to sign the 30-year-old right now, the English side is under pressure to keep hold of him at this moment. The latter are unable to offer a contract extension due to the transfer ban imposed on the club by the UK Government following the sanctions on Roman Abramovich.
Signs of concern?
Tuchel has already suggested in the past that the Blues star would be crucial to his plans in the long term future. As such, the club must do their best to give the boss what he wants moving forward. That means renewing the current contract of the holding midfielder as early as possible.
But that is not possible under the current circumstances, so the West London side must convince the UK Government to give them leeway regarding this subject. Even if that issue is taken care of, we also need to consider how the former Napoli man is eager to return to Italy.
Then again, that could simply be a ploy from the agent’s side to get a better contract for his client. In any case, we must control our expenses as much as possible and make an effort that would not risk our finances. That could be difficult under the current volatile environment and the after-effects that could have on the club.

In any case, we should firmly deny all the approaches from the Bianconeri unless we receive an outrageous bid from their side. After all, our priorities lie elsewhere, like the centre-back position, for example, which could potentially need to be restructured after this season.
That’s not all, as we do not have a like for like backup option for Jorginho, which makes him an even more important cog in our team. Let’s hope that he stays with us past 2023, but whether that will happen or not remains to be seen.
