Transfer News: Juventus at odds with Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger over summer move
According to the Italian newspaper Tuttosport via Sport Witness (h/t Football.London), Juventus are at odds with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger regarding a move in the summer transfer window. He has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge, but this update would be a major sigh of relief for his current club.
Rudiger has already entered the final year of his current contract and will see his deal expire after this season. He is legally able to reach a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside England at this point. As such, his representatives have made their wage demands known to Juve ahead of this summer.
The Bianconeri would not accept the “shock request” made by the German’s agents. “London sources” claimed that he would be “satisfied” with a wage package of €10million net per year alongside a “substantial signing on bonus” worth €30million. That has prompted the Serie A club to take their current stance.
Some good news!
It is really good to see some things going our way, especially when we are currently going through a rough phase at this moment. As such, the disagreements between the 28-year-old and the Italian side have given us a transfer boost if this piece of information is believed to be true.
That rules out one of our competitors for the signature of the Premier League superstar. However, the concerning aspect would be whether the central defender would make similar demands with us to sign a new deal. That is concerning, to say the least, due to the financial turmoil we are going through following the UK Government’s restrictions.
The Blues ace is arguably our best centre-back in the team and deserves a contract that matches his output. We should have given him a lucrative contract when we were financially sound, but that is not the case at this moment. As such, we must convince him to understand our plight and make a compromise from his side.

After all, it is Thomas Tuchel who revived the German international’s playing career after he was cast aside by Frank Lampard. Moreover, staying with us also offers solidity, which may not be the case if he moves elsewhere. As such, we should try and use those advantages to make our case with the defender.
Let’s hope that the limitations would be lifted as soon as possible so that we can legally engage in contract talks with the former AS Roma man. It remains to be seen if we can reach an agreement with him in the coming months ahead of the summer transfer window.
