Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount shares a cryptic injury update on Twitter
According to the player’s official Twitter account (h/t Football.London), Chelsea star Mason Mount has posted a picture to share his recovery update.
Mason Mount was substituted in the 31st minute of Chelsea’s Club World Cup final clash vs Palmeiras after suffering from a knee injury. He missed yesterday’s match against Crystal Palace as he is yet to fully recover from the injury.
Mount has been one of the most vital players for Chelsea this season. By scoring seven goals and racking up eight assists in 34 appearances across all competitions, he has shown his importance in the final third of the pitch for Tuchel’s team amidst our striker’s poor form.
Mount has largely been a regular for the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager’s team and that is why his injury is a big blow to the German manager’s plans for the coming games. The West London team is set to face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final later this month
Considering the current form of Jurgen Klopp’s team, we would need our best team to shoot up our chances of winning the League Cup. With Reece James and Ben Chilwell’s injury issues earlier this season, losing another talented Englishman in Mount could be a big blow for us.
When Tottenham was busy securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory against defending champions Manchester City, Mount posed a picture with a cheerful smile. He was seen doing recovery drills and used a cryptic one-word message – “…loading…” for the caption part.
Even though he didn’t indicate his comeback, his positive energy in the photo suggests that the Englishman is making a steady recovery. It remains to be seen whether he can get back to the field before the Carabao Cup final against the Reds.
If he does not return for the all-important clash, we do have the likes of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech to take over the mantle in the attacking positions. The two have been doing well for us recently and could be in contention to start the final in a week’s time.

Time will tell if Mount’s injury is set to heal before next Sunday. While there is always the option to keep the media in the shadows regarding a player’s injury status to make the opposition team’s job harder, Chelsea fans would hope that an official statement from the club comes soon regarding our star playmaker’s fitness status.
