Manchester City showing promptness in the pursuit of Chelsea target Kingsley Coman
According to L’Equipe (h/t Football.london), Manchester City have approached the family of Chelsea target Kingsley Coman for understanding the possibility of a move.
Recurring injury issues have seen Kingsley Coman struggle to often show off his best, but he still remains to be a vital player for Julian Nagelsmann. The right-winger did show impressive display whenever getting the chance to feature. With five goals and two assists in 17 appearances, he has turned on the heat several times this season.
Chelsea and Manchester City were believed to be battling for the signature of Coman. However, Pep Guardiola’s team were quick-footed to communicate their interest directly to the French international’s family. It is believed that the Citizens board made an inquiry recently to understand the possibility of a move.
Even though Chelsea ace Christian Pulisic showed a spark of his old self in recent games, the American forward hasn’t enjoyed a consistent spell of form this campaign. The concerns in the attacking sector are growing thanks to Timo Werner’s poor conversion rate.
Therefore, the addition of Coman will boost the Chelsea frontline. The 25-year-old has a lot of experience playing in some of the top leagues in Europe. The French star is known for attacking wide areas and poses an array of impressive skills. Thomas Tuchel can leverage this expertise by pairing him alongside Romleu Lukaku.
However, it seems Bayern Munich has no intentions to offload one of their key players. It is understood that the player also desires the same and eyeing a long term spell with the German club.

Even though the deal seems off, Marina Granovskaia’s board should tempt Coman’s entourage by offering better game time and potentially better wages. Bayern’s high depth in the forward lineup suggests that the French forward would see a higher percentage of chances under Antonio Conte.
