The wife of Chelsea star Thiago Silva provides major Covid-19 boost ahead of FA Cup tie
According to her official Instagram account, as quoted by football.london, Belle Silva, wife of Thiago Silva, has confirmed that the Chelsea star has no symptoms following a positive Covid-19 test a couple of days ago.
The Blues made easy work of Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday night. However, after the game, Thomas Tuchel handed a massive blow to fans by confirming that Thiago Silva and N’Golo Kante tested positive for Covid-19.
Although there is no news on the latter, it looks like the Brazilian is doing just fine in quarantine. His wife, Belle Silva, recently uploaded a story on her Instagram account, with the caption “He (Thiago Silva) is fine without symptoms and in quarantine.”
The defender was a key part of the team that held Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on the weekend, and Tuchel would be hoping to have the former Paris Saint-Germain ace back in training soon.
Need him back as soon as possible
The Blues did a wonderful job of keeping their first domestic clean sheet in four games against Spurs in the mid-week tie. Malang Sarr, Marcos Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Antonio Rudiger had a great understanding amongst each other and showed real chemistry at times.
However, it was a one-off game. Moreover, Spurs looked fatigued. We are going to need our best players back at some point to keep up the pace in the title race. Tuchel would be aware that our next league clash is against runaway champions Man City. The gaffer would want his leader at the back to return by then.
The FA Cup tie and the 2nd leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final could perhaps be managed without the Brazilian, given the lesser opposition (Chesterfield) in the former competition and the sizeable lead in the latter. In fact, Silva has gained new-formed importance at the club after penning a new deal, thereby keeping him at the club until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Thus, it is pivotal that he comes out of quarantine soon. It bodes well for us that he has no symptoms, but fans can breathe a sigh of relief once he is pictured in training again. Similarly, one would hope Kante, too, can get back to full fitness as soon as possible.
While Silva appears to be asymptomatic, it is imperative that he still remains in isolation and does not let his guard down. Thankfully while he might not be impacted badly, he could still act as a carrier if safety measures are not followed.
