Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger open talks with several European heavyweights
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger has started talks with Real Madrid, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich regarding a pre-contract agreement. He is legally able to commit to other clubs ahead of entering free agency next summer.
Rudiger will see his contract with the Blues expire at the end of the current season. He has not ruled out committing his future at Stamford Bridge, and the club is eager to extend his deal. However, he had rejected the latest offer put on the table as it was considerably lower than the salary package of other stars in the Chelsea squad.
Despite this situation, the German is committed to giving his all for Thomas Tuchel, and he has been a key figure in the starting lineup. Manchester United’s Ralf Rangnick is also an admirer of the defender, and he also knows the Blues ace’s agent, who is also his brother.
New contract a priority!
We have recently agreed to a new contract with Thiago Silva, who has extended his stay until June 2023. That gives us a sigh of relief, and now we must focus on renewing the deal of the German superstar. That should be our priority in the coming months as we simply cannot afford to lose him as a free agent.
The 28-year-old is a defensive colossus at the back and his influence also extends to the attacking areas. His ability to drive forward with the ball and his ball-playing skills are valuable assets for any team. Not to mention his late disguised runs into the box have helped us on numerous occasions for creating chances in front.
That was highlighted during our comeback win against Leeds United, where the Premier League star played a huge role. His potential departure could leave a huge gap to be filled ahead of next season. Not to mention, Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta do have many years left in their playing career, making it even more important for him to stay.

Marina Granovskaia would need to act as quickly as possible so as not to lose the German centre-back in the future. He has certainly warranted a raise as he has been one of our best players since Tuchel has taken the managerial role. We would face a stern challenge from the European powerhouses but, we must convince him by pointing out the sporting project which has enabled him to excel at the moment.
Let’s hope that we can reach common ground with the Blues defender in the coming days and get rid of the uncertainty surrounding his future.
