Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic is attracting heavy interest ahead of January transfer window
According to GIVEMESPORT (h/t Football.London), USMNT star Christian Pulisic is attracting serious interest from top clubs and could end up leaving Chelsea in the winter transfer window.
The American ace has struggled with injuries and form since his move to the Bridge in 2019. He was a key player under former manager Frank Lampard and continuously gave good performances in the 2019/20 season. But a series of injuries halted his growth, and he has since fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
Thomas Tuchel hasn’t really been able to use the owner at his best on a regular basis. But the recent covid positive results of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner obliged the manager to start Pulisic in the last three matches. Overall, the USMNT star has appeared in 13 games this season, bagging two goals and two assists. However, the 23-year-old has failed to perform to his best ability.
The lack of game time could force him to consider a move away from Stamford Bridge. According to Daily Star Journalist Paul Brown, Pulisic currently has a lot of options if he decides to leave in January.
“I know teams are looking at him. He just hasn’t been fit enough really to play this season, and there are clearly other players ahead of him.”
Chelsea are going through a challenging phase of results this season. The hectic schedule was already a burden but the recent covid outbreak has only worsened matters.
With players unavailable, Tuchel has been forced to dig deep and also make use of youth players from the academy to cover up for losses. Keeping Pulisic at least until the summer would be the prudent approach given our need for strength in depth.

The Blues should do everything possible to convince Pulisic to stay. But even if he decides to leave, it won’t make much of a difference as the USMNT forward hasn’t really been at his best for some time now. Whether an upgrade is needed or not, any move can wait until the summer.
