AC Milan have made an offer for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen
According to Rudy Galetti (h/t Football.London), AC Milan have registered an offer of €4m-per-year in an attempt to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen. This comes in the wake of an injury sustained by Simon Kjaer.
Christensen has been a consistent performer at Chelsea. Even though Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva have taken leadership roles in the backline, the Danish international has been an essential unit of the Blues defence.
Last season, in the absence of Silva in the crunch UEFA Champions League final against Manchester City, the 25-year-od defender played a heroic role to hold the aggressive Citizen forwards at bay.
The 25-year-old intentional is currently serving the final year of his contract with eh Blues. Marina Granovskaia’s board hasn’t sorted out his renewal deal and as things stand, the player’s future at the Bridge is up in the air.
The contract dilemma has attracted interest from AC Milan in recent times. It is believed that Milan have registered their first offer of €4m-per-year in wages for the centre-back. The Rossoneri captain, Kjaer, recently endured an injury and has seen him sidelined for a significant amount of time. The Milan team would hope to acquire the Danish defender to fill their defensive void for the rest of the season.
On the other hand, Chelsea has found themselves in hot water in recent times regarding the contract of some key players. More distinctively, The Blues board have met dead ends with the defensive player’s renewal deals.
In recent times, blues defender Antonio Rudiger has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge. Whereas, club captain César Azpilicueta also hasn’t penned down a new deal despite closing on the end of his current term.
