European champions Real Madrid have made their mind on offering their winger Gareth Bale plus £100million to sign Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard in the upcoming summer.
An exclusive report from Express has claimed that Real Madrid have made Eden Hazard their priority target for the summer transfer window and are willing to spend as much as £100million cash for the Belgian. To make the deal more lucrative, they are also looking to add Gareth Bale into it. Hazard signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea back in February 2015 and still has two years left on his deal.
Regardless of his contract details, Real Madrid are willing to make a move. A couple of months back, there were reports that Hazard would consider a move to Real but only if Zinedine Zidane remained in charge, due to his desire to work with the Frenchman. Speaking about the prospect of signing a new deal with Chelsea, the Belgian had already hinted that he is willing to sign an extension but only after his teammate Thibaut Courtois pens down one.
“Yes, I think Thibaut first. Then I will sign,” Hazard told The Mirror.
But as per Express, Hazard is currently stalling on signing a new contract and this has given Real new hopes of signing him in the summer. Real currently sit 20 points adrift of La Liga toppers FC Barcelona and will reportedly look to make a big overhaul of their current roster. Also, judging by their recent results, there are rumours that they might part ways with Zidane, which – in one way or the other – might affect the deal.
Real’s keenness in acquiring signing Hazard is perfectly put down by the fact that they will be offering Gareth Bale as a part of the makeweight in the deal. Bale has struggled to get into the first-team action this season and his constant injury issues are to be blamed for this. The Welshman has only made 12 La Liga appearances thus far and has completed full 90 minutes just twice, scoring six times in the process.
In my opinion, I think we should not accept this offer as it would be difficult to replace Hazard. He’s one of the best in the world and Gareth Bale is injury-prone. For the amount that Real are offering, it would be impossible to buy a suitable replacement for the Belgian.
